Torch Relay

The Dream for Darfur Olympic-style torch relay began on August 9 in Chad, near the Darfur border. The countries we visited between then and January 2008 -- Rwanda, Armenia, Germany, Bosnia, and Cambodia -- were chosen because they were all the sites of previous genocides and mass atrocity.  At each relay, the torch was carried by survivors of genocide and their descendants.  As the official torch returned to Chinese soil on May 1, 2008 after its international tour, Mia Farrow and Jill Savitt were there to meet it.

For press coverage of the relay, see the newsroom.
