|
The team behind Dream for Darfur launched a new campaign in the fall of 2008: the Genocide Prevention Project.
The Genocide Prevention Project seeks to
build the public will to call on the international community to take
meaningful actions when “early warning” indicators signal possible
onset of mass-scale atrocity crimes, and to mobilize resources to avert
or halt such ongoing crises and protect civilians from mass atrocity
crimes.

Statement: The ICC Releases Bashir Arrest Warrant |
|
Monday, 15 September 2008 |
Statement of Mia Farrow in response to the ICC’s release of the arrest warrant application for President Bashir
The evidence released yesterday by the ICC leaves no doubt that the UN Security Council, all member states, and every international leader must now vigorously support the impending arrest warrant for Sudanese President Omer al Bashir. As a new frenzy of savage attacks upon civilians in villages and IDP camps demonstrates, any effort to suspend ICC proceedings seems criminally inappropriate. For every day that al Bashir is in power, more people are sure to perish.

|
Friday, 08 August 2008 |
Statement from Joey Cheek, President and Co-founder of Team Darfur
I am so pleased and grateful that the Save Darfur Coalition is honoring one of Team Darfur’s most inspiring members, Lopez Lomong. Lopez will compete for the U.S. Olympic team in Beijing this summer. As a Sudanese refugee, Lopez provides a unique perspective on the crisis in Darfur and frequently speaks out about the need to raise awareness about the genocide because “a lot of people here don’t know what was going on in Sudan and I need to send a message as an athlete from Sudan.”
